Weekend Crafting

Today is Sunday, and we have a day off! (Our last day off in awhile actually... Though we are still interviewing people to work in the shoppe, so send your resumes over!) Fall is here, the weather has been warm, and we're heading up to Sonoma to spend the day celebrating my sister's birthday with my whole family. We've been waiting for her birthday to fall on 10.10.10. for years, so this is an extra special one for her!

I've had the urge to do lots of crafting recently, and have been poking through our little stacks of supplies to see what can be made using stuff we already have lying around. First up- a set of 20 notecards using some wallpaper samples from our stash. It's been a couple years since we made the book and I still can't seem to stay away from wallpaper crafts!

New Art

After watching Herb & Dorothy last night, I got to thinking about collecting art, and remembered that I haven't shared the most recent additions to our own modest collection- recently back from the framers and hanging in our dining room! On the left is a print by Wayne White, and on the right are 3 prints by Tom Bonauro. Don't they look great together?

Speaking of the dining room, we wallpapered one wall with our Lena Corwin wallpaper last Fall, and painted all the other walls in a lovely shade of blue/gray that matches the ground color. It feels sooo much better than the glossy white paint that was in there before!

Craft Event in the Shoppe!

It's so exciting to have workshops in the Shoppe! We always have the best time—old friends show up, we make new friends, there are snacks and drinks, and everybody ends up learning something pretty awesome. So please join us this Friday, July 17th for a free, super fun, hands on workshop with Cathy of Cathy of California. She will be in the Shoppe from 5-7pm teaching us to weave flowers out of all sorts of cool materials on her amazing vintage Flower Looms. It's our favorite kind of craft—with very little time (or skill) pretty much anyone can create a beautiful and unique object.

Also: Be sure to check out Cathy's booth at the Renegade Craft Fair this weekend! We're gonna be there for a spell on Sunday at the Chronicle books booth signing copies of our book: Wallpaper Projects...please come say hello!!
